Upgrade APOLLON 2022.2

APOLLON is thriving and growing — new functions have been added, as well as numerous extensions and optimizations. The new visibility filter helps to review complex structures and is also useful for element selection and output. Enhanced functionality for processing bars and the addition of an extensive standard parts library have taken APOLLON to a whole new level.

The new visibility filter helps to review complex structures and is also useful for element selection and output. Enhanced functionality for processing bars and the addition of an extensive standard parts library have taken APOLLON to a whole new level.

Multiple notching / machining per bar

It is now possible to assign multiple notches or processes to a bar definition simultaneously in the APOLLON “Bar cutting” dialog, which are then transferred and applied from the corresponding block. In addition, the gap size specification is no longer limited to a single value for all sides, but can be specified separately for each side if necessary.

Divide Bar

The “Divide Bar” command has been enhanced with the ability to add gaps at the splits. For each bar class, the gap dimension and the distance to the parting line can be specified separately.

Single part drawing

The new “Single Part Drawing” function offers a particularly convenient way of outputting individual drawings of APOLLON model components in DWG or IDW format. Options are available for the selection of the sheet size and the orientation of the title field for single part drawings. All the information pertaining to a single part is automatically entered into the title field; all that remains is to add the dimensions and labeling.

All parts of the model can be output in a single step, or the APOLLON visibility filter can be used to output only selected parts. The selection of individual part drawings can also be expanded or reduced later on.

Visibility filter

With the APOLLON visibility filter, parts of a construction can be hidden. For example, when reviewing a cutting plan for a mullion-transom construction, a single mullion might be viewed on its own with all of its individual parts. The visibility filter can also be used to limit the output to specific parts, as with the new “Single Part Drawing” function or the CNC export. Visibility is controlled by either selecting components on the model or using a convenient dialog box.

Profile standard data library

ATHENA’s extensive manufacturer and standard parts library is now available in APOLLON as well. Standard parts are used similarly to semi-finished products; the dialog box also includes filter functions for the various standards and a search function. Individual article numbers may be assigned, and the new function for comparing article numbers may be used for standard parts. Furthermore, the dialog provides several inserting options, including the selection of a specific surface of an axis model and the specification of a specific position.

CNC export

The CNC export function in APOLLON has been expanded. The visibility filter can now be used to select the parts to export, in addition to or alongside the previous method of selecting by material. 3dCW has been added to CamQuix as a CNC export format.

Edit profile contours (components)

The Profile Content Center can now be used to export and edit profiles from the APOLLON database. If a profile has already been installed in a model, it can be exported as a block and processed before being saved as a new object in the database. A profile that has not yet been installed can be exported as a block, edited, and then saved back to the database as a modified profile.

Check outlines

The new “Check Outlines” function simplifies the process of verifying the completeness of drawn contours. The outline data is checked for validity, including checks to determine whether the outlines are actually closed and to determine whether cutting contours or notches are present.

Cutting classes

In addition to the standard cutting classes, APOLLON now allows the creation of user-defined classes. Cutting classes are created and managed in a straightforward dialog box.

Update elements across assemblies

APOLLON can now perform a cross-assembly update. If the parameters of an entire assembly change, updating each element individually is no longer necessary. Instead, the “Update Element” command can be used to apply the changes to all assembly elements with a single click.

Further changes

  • New database format .pdlx for database encryption and compression
  • Every time the program is launched, a speech bubble indicates that you can check for program updates. The APOLLON product information page contains detailed information about the update and a link to the update download.
  • The program’s interface is now also available in a dark color scheme.
  • With a single click, information about the product can be copied to the clipboard for support purposes.
  • Redundancy checks can be performed on component item numbers, e.g. for transfer to an ERP system.
  • Manual material change for multi-part connecting pieces is now possible
  • Intersection analysis is improved (lines of small length are removed)
  • Profile import: gasket height pickup in Y negative is now possible
  • Editing in the profile content center now allows subsequent editing of all properties.
